R.G.S. or Richards Game Studio is an independent game studio based in the Netherlands. You can find a little bit of
our history in computer games creation by following this history-link. With the
up going budgets for computer games in the big industry and the related high prices when they are shipped, we
feel the need to develop budget computer games for the Windows-PC. This means that our games are low-priced and high standard.
Our focus is on the fantasy and science-fiction role playing games (RPG) market, but occasionally you may find a first person shooter
or something else. With this site we promote our computer games and give insight in current projects we are working on, which you can
find on the Current Projects page. You have also the opportunity to buy and download the games directly from this site. You will
find the released games on the Games page. At the moment there are no games released and one running project, a 3D fantasy
RPG called:
"The Masters Eye"
We also like to help any other independent game developer to keep the games low-priced. We make our game-related art like
textures and 3D-models available for everybody against very reasonable prices. When you buy the artwork you receive the
rights to use it for personal or commercial projects and no royalties. You may even change it so that it will fulfil your
needs. Visit the Game Art page to see what is available.
If you like to buy our games or artwork you will find information on how to do so on the Order Info page.
Here you can also find answers to frequently asked questions. If you still have questions or you have remarks, do not
hesitate to contact us by using the Contact page.
Have fun.
Many years ago, it was 1984, we started game programming on an Oric 1 home computer with 16 kB memory. Soon this
computer was replaced by a Toshiba MSX computer with 32 kB. At that time the games were loaded in the computer by
cassette or with a ROM-cartridge. The first games we created were programmed in BASIC. In 1987 Commodore released
the Amiga 500, which was a huge step forward for computer games, because it was able to play digitized sounds and displayed
4096 colours, so we replaced the MSX by the Amiga. The first commercial product we released was a slide show creator
for private television broadcasting companies, which was followed by a number of platform games. In the 90's we
switched over to the PC and created a game called Mindless, loosely based on the well-known board game Mastermind.
The game was programmed in PASCAL with a little bit of Assembler code. Mindless was soon followed by a role playing
game The C&M detectives and the Prince of Darkness. After this it went silent. During this period we were
busy creating 3D-engines and released our first FPS game, which was not as successful as we had hoped for. After this
release we went on studying and creating 3D game engines until recently we stumbled at the Torque-3D engine,
which opened a way to start creating the game we had a long time wish for and the result will soon be available here.
If you like to see what Torque3D has to offer just go to
